Lori Bush

Chief Operating Officer

Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Briar Cliff College and has dedicated three decades to healthcare leadership in rural Iowa. Since beginning her career in 1992, she has built extensive experience across the healthcare continuum, including hospital-based discharge planning, home health, hospice, and public health services.

Her career progressed into program and systems leadership, including serving as Manager of the Healthy Families outreach program and later transitioning into behavioral health administration. Lori led the development and successful implementation of an Integrated Health Home (IHH), which expanded to serve approximately one-quarter of the state of Iowa. In this role, she worked closely with state leadership, policymakers, and insurance partners to design population health initiatives, risk stratification processes, and integrated health strategies.

As Chief Program Officer, Lori oversaw strategic planning, budget development, and the implementation of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. Before joining MWHC, she served as a Clinic Director providing operational oversight for multiple Rural Health Clinics, with a strong focus on provider recruitment, retention, and leadership collaboration. She is a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP).

In her personal time, Lori enjoys dancing, home decorating, traveling, and spending time with family, friends and her shih tzu Bella.
